Sorry, I haven't been on here as much as I used to be and didn't see the previous 'thread bump' asking about it.

No, it hasn't sold yet. I lowered the start price on about as low as I could go that would do me any good and relisted it a few times. Now I have it listed on the Buy It Now or Best Offer format with the Buy it Now price back up where I originally had that set and the Best Offer acceptable range just a hair lower than what I had dropped the start price down to on the previous listings.

Low Ball offers will automatically be rejected without me ever having to look at them.

Watching the number of 'watchers' on each listing I never knew if it was the same people watching each listing or if I lost a few and gained a few. With the Buy It Now listing running continuously till sold I will at least have a more accurate idea of how many people are looking/watching it.

Eventually the right person will find it and it will go....

Using it in the background of the pictures of other stuff I list on eBay I've had people from all around the world asking what it was and if it was for sale over the years, but until I list something else like what they originally noticed it with it will take time for them to find it again IF they're still interested in it.

With Winter finally settling in around here it will likely stay where it is for a while yet. If I can keep moving other small stuff once in a while for gas money and other bills, I can wait till summer before it really Needs to go for getting the past due property taxes paid.

Ain't no fun being broke, but it's my own fault for not listing as many things as I could be listing for sale. As long as I can keep 'getting by' I will keep 'getting by' peddling the small stuff. I just need to get my butt in gear and get more of it on there.

The old Roller Sank In and Got Pulled back Above Ground Once Again.

Used a 2 Ton Come-a-long and a couple Snatch-Block Pulleys along with the chains up and over the back wheels again and moved it by hand last Summer gaining about a half inch with each pull of the handle as it crawled up and out of the hole it had sunk into. Big Snatch Block Pulley Doubled the pull of the come-a-long (with its small snatch-block pulley) and the HUGE Snatch Block Pulley balanced the pull between the back wheels. Given Enough Mechanical Advantage, It Is Possible to Move Heavy Iron By Hand.

After I had already moved it several feet and had it up on solid ground, a friend stopped by and we used his truck to pull it a few feet farther.

Then later in the Fall I decided to hook up to another tree and pull it back & turn it a little so I could re-hook on the front and move it to a new spot in the yard. (as will be shown in the next post)

After getting it pulled back and angled a little, it was time to get creative for the next forward pull, angling even more and ending up setting along side the tree I pulling it with.

The Farther ahead I went, the greater the angle of the pull, until the Roller was setting along side the tree and about 12 feet away from it.

Photo Re: My Road Roller's about a foot taller again...

Another Winter Come and Gone, and with 3 people interested in it this Spring it was time to Play Again and see if I could get the engine Freed Up again so-as to keep them from talking me down in price because of it.

Pulled the plugs and poured in a mixture of Kroil and Diesel Fuel and let it soak overnight, then lit it up with a weed burner. 15 minutes later I was able to get a 1/4 turn on the crank.

Soaked it overnight again and the next day I was able to get a full turn out of it. 2 Valves are stuck open on it that need to be freed up yet. I was able to pry them open farther with a screw driver blade between the valve stem and lifter, but they are just sticky enough that the springs can't pull them back shut (yet)

Of the three interested party's, one is real serious and we agreed on a price. Now it's just a matter of him getting something else sold first to avoid borrowing as much from the bank, but Hopefully it will be going down the road by the end of this month or the middle of August.

In the mean time, I moved it a little bit again using my old handy-man jack and a chain on the wheel just to keep it from sinking in again.

Guy plans on sending a Drop-Deck Low-Boy trailer for it, but with NO WINCH !

No I Am NOT going to load it on a trailer with my come-a-long. Hoping to have a neighbor push or pull it on with a caterpillar and send it on its way.
