First weekend of August at Goessel, Kansas we will be featuring M&M/ Twin City tractors and equipment. Weather permitting we combine wheat, shell corn, sawmill, Large stationary engines, NICE prairie tractor ehibit and startup, etc. We try to do many field demonstrations, plowing and such.
Would like to invite all to come, we especially need to flood the place with M&M and TC tractors.
Nice small town atmosphere, good folks to visit.

Russ is correct about the Goessel Threshing Days show. The gentleman that owns the prairie-breaking tractors has a varied and interesting collection, not to mention he's a heck of a good guy. Also, the show is not far from accommodations. That can be a real problem at many shows in this area. Remember, your going to tour the "Red Hot Heart of America" in the hottest and most humid times. Combine 95 degree temps with 75 percent humidity and you're changing shirts every couple of hours. As far as big stuff, there's little more in this area during that time frame, except for steam and rubber tire shows. Good luck in your home search.

Yes and we are all gettin older including Jerry, someday we may not be able to enjoy that collection all in one weekend, that thought makes for a good argument for taking it all in now while we can.
Last year we were blessed with two steam traction engines after a long period without any.

Hi Everyone

Just heard on the rumor mill Jerry has sold his entire collection of Prairie Tractors. They're heading to Iowa or Idaho. Not sure they'll still be there for 2018 show.
Maybe Jerry will confirm this rumors.
Thanks
LeRoy

Isn't that strange. Just got home and had gotten an e-mail from another staker, from California, saying the same thing. Checked with a local guy, that usually has his thumb on the pulse of engine/tractor stuff in the area, and he said that he hadn't heard anything.

Saw it on Facebook, Aumann Auctions reported that they brokered the deal for a big collector in Iowa.

There are some nice shows in IL, Pinckneyville, Will County, Pontiac, etc.

The show at Pawnee OK in May is one of my personal favorites, a fair bit of steam and always some interesting older tractors there.

The only show I can think of in AR to look at an Oilpull and a traction engine is the show at Corning, AR. Nice, small show that puts on a lot of demonstrations. Not a whole lot of steam or big gas tractors in AR that I know of.

We just had our annual show at Portland, TN, growing every year and this year we had 12 traction engines there, along with all of the big collection at the Days Gone By Museum.

Seveal nice shows in MO, biggest one is probably Republic. Boonville MO is another real nice one, Adrian, Lathrop are also nice. There's another good one the same weekend as Republic, can't think of the name of it off the top of my head.

Rushville IN has a lot of steam and big prairie tractors, nice to visit.

Texas show at Temple is a good large show that has lots of big prairie stuff.

Mike

hitmissfan, Looks like you can take Goessel off your list of prairie tractor shows........sorry. Many of the shows around here happen in Spring or Fall, some groups even have both Spring and Fall shows. Might reschedule your trip.

Albert City Iowa has a real nice show the beginning of August. They usually have a pretty good turn out for big prairie tractors depending on the what the feature brand is.
