Default Monarch Neverslip 12/20 Find

I've recently bought this monarch 12/20 neverslip from France after spending 60 plus years under a hedge , it's going to be my next project and have already started stripping the engine today. I believe it to be 1 of 3 12/20 known unless someone can tell me otherwise ? I was wondering if there is much information around on the erd engine ? It has a date of June 15 cast into it so I'm guessing the crawler is fairly early. It would be of great help if someone had a engine manual that they would be able to scan for me. If anyone has any information on these crawlers I'd be glad to hear it.

Take good care of that Erd engine, they're few and far between. There’s 2 never slips in a collection in Alberta. Is there any nameplates on it that indicate if it came from Canada or not? https://www.wisconsinhistory.org/Records/Image/IM90646

Plus another one. That makes three in Alberta. Dave, are the 2 both the small ones?

I think so, it’s been awhile since I looked at them, I’ll double check.

Take good care of the Erd motor. They are a real bugger to find parts for.

Just talked to your friend who is now going to visit the 2 Neverslips in New Hampshire. I have a lot of info on early crawlers but nothing on this unit. I believe James Owensby has one in eastern PA he purchased from Oscar Cook sale. There may also be one in large crawler collection in No. East Ohio but no more info but "Crawler Heaven''. Good luck on your search for paper info on your tractor. EdB

. I had a look today, one is a 20-12 and one is the 30-18. The 20-12 has a radiator that was built in Windsor Ont. I wonder if it’s one of the Ontario built tractors? It sold new in Alberta and came from the original owners farm. Apparently some family members of the owners of the Ontario Monarch plant live here in Alberta and have a large assortment of information and pics from the factory. I haven’t met them yet.

Ruchton1980, what a great find! Tell us more about how you found it. Looks to be in a very good condition and yes, that ERD engine has caused a lot of headace for restorers.

Wow, what a find! Would it have been used in WW1?
