Default 1922 CASE 22-40 Crossmotor Assistance

Hello, My name is Greg Hansen. I inherited my grandfather's 1922 CASE 22-40 Crossmotor tractor and 1923 CASE 28-50 Threshing Machine from my father when he passed away. We have been demonstrating it at an annual show in Freeport, ILL. since the late 1970's. I have been around this system since I was very young.
I am in need of some assistance regarding the tractor:
1) I need to do some work on the "air wash" system. It is leaking around multiple seams. I tried patching it last year with gasket sealer but I think it is time to rebuild. Does anyone have the parts list or diagram of this unit?

2) I need to replace the sparkplug wires. When I removed them at the end of the show I forgot to mark where they need to be connected to the distributor. Does anyone know the firing order and connection? A picture of one connected would be helpful!

3) My grandfather and dad cut off the rear steel wheels when the farm started to be surrounded with blacktop. I am looking for rear steel wheels that I could swap out to bring it to original condition.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this post.
Greg Hansen

Parts and operators manuals can be found thru such sources as Ebay and Jensales aswell as others. You could try Biewer's Tractor Salvage in MN in regards to the parts for the tractor

I am in the process of rebuilding the air wash system. I ended up using JB Weld (lots of it) to line the lower portion of the water tank. It turned out very nice. I am almost done finishing the other portions of the air wash system. I will post photos when I get it done.

Welcome To The Stak Greg.

I still need to get your families tractors history posted on the Club's Facebook Page yet, and hope to do so before Show-Time rolls around again. Your information is all saved in the e-mail you sent me last year.

It's been a feature at our show for as long as I can remember.

In the mean time, Here's a shot of Greg's 22-40 with the cut-down wheels.

Personally I'd leave them as-is as it's part of the tractors history, but Ultimately it's His decision to make.
