Default Hit & Miss Model from Banggood

Back in mid September I came across this STEM Full Metal Combustion Model Engine, and I was looking for a model to fuss with. After seeing what it was, looking at a few reviews, and really attracted by its price, I ordered one on a pre-order basis, knowing I would have to wait for it (Did I ever say I hate waiting for stuff). I was politely advised that they will be available from the supplier in about a month. The month came and went, and I asked in October, WHEN? I was again advised that it would be another month or so from the supplier and if I wished, I could cancel my order and get a refund, or wait. I said Iíll wait. November rolled around, and I asked again, WHEN? I was again advised that it would be another month or so from the supplier and if I wished, I could cancel my order and get a refund, or wait. I said Iíll wait. December rolled around, and I asked again, WHEN? I was again advised that it would be another month or so from the supplier and if I wished, I could cancel my order and get a refund, or wait. I said Iíll wait. Then before my next inquiry , I got an email 12-30-2018 that my order was shipped , and would be here January 10, 2019. My well packed, little Hit & Miss engine with 3 ĹĒ flywheels came two days early in a YELLOW DHL truck . Visually the finish and machining is better than expected. At first it didnít have any compression, then I put in the spark plug , and all was good. Here are a few pictures of my first impression. Iíll probably keep it on the shelf and fuss with it a bit as I make the skids, and work on a set of trucks for it. I might even run it someday, and for the price, I think it was a bargain. I'm just having fun, even in NJ on the way through.

Sometimes we just have to wait (did I ever say, I hate waiting). In between the many projects I have going on at the same time , I managed to make a set of skids for the model using some tools just gathering dust waiting for use on the next project (the radial arm saw, drill press, 11/64Ē drill, 3/8Ē Forstner bit, and a 3mm metric Allen wrench (darn metric hardware used on the model). I have some 1ĹĒ model wheels, but they are too small, and donít look right for a set of trucks. All in a days "FUN", even in NJ on the way through .
