Here's a photo of Jim and myself with the Sawyer back during Steam Era 2016. Another shot of him in the background of my Cornbinder and some side views of his Traction Engine.

Haven't seen the sun in a while around these parts and am longing for the summer days.....

I finally found some photos to share! More to come. In the 3rd photo, my grampa (Vince Riddell) had made those for someone.

Robert

Is that the museums Abell or the one they sold to a private collector? If I'm thinking right the one that sold was Mr. Riddles and was at the Toronto Exhibition when it was new. It used to live a few houses up the street from me when I was a kid.

Jim, not sure about that being one of Sherwood's floats. I never knew him to have a folding goose neck, only removable.

The cut away that is in the Ag Mausoleum is apparently my grandfather's 17. Grandpa had sold it to a gentleman in the winter of 54-55 whose farm bordered Camp Border [now Base Borden]. He had a pig farm, and was acquiring the kitchen scraps from the Base, and was going to steam them to use as slop for the pigs. The engine went through a barn fire at that farm. Somehow it wound up at Mr. Riddell's place. The plan had been to cut apart the boiler sheeting, and use that in the restoration of another 17 boiler. Not sure if this ever happened. It used to frequent Steam Era as a cut away, then found it's way to the OAM. Not sure what ever became of the assorted bits and pieces from that engine. I saw it sitting in a pile beside the shop at his father's place at Baldwin where the family engines were kept. His welding shop was on Davis Drive East in Newmarket.

Here is the cut away boiler that was owned by the Milton steam club now in the former Ontario Agricultrial Museum now Country Heritage Park in Milton Ontario.Picture was taken in the late 60's at Steam Era
