Default What are they?

Here are 2 items from my auction lots today. the small one is all brass my guess if fire truck related , not sure. And the larger one is cast iron. Along the same lines maybe a vintage fire plug wrench? any help would be great, don't take my word for it. lol

The top cast iron piece is a ladder rest that goes on top of a gas street lamp post.
