Wisconsin AHH Engine Date of Manfacture

I have gotten interested again in trying to figure out the manufacturing date of my WMC model AHH engine. I was given this engine in about the mid 70s. It was on a hay baler that sat outside. All of the painted on information on the engine tag was completely gone leaving only the imprinted information. I don't know which of two numbers imprinted on the tag is the model number. I went again to www.wiengines.com and tried a serial number lookup. The two numbers comes back with a month and year. The 22373 shows to be January 1936 and the 723377 shows to be August 1946. By the way my engine does not have the crankcase ventilation pipe going to the air filter housing. Instead it just has a brass elbow fitting with a metal ball in it screwed into the crankcase. I have attached a pic of how the letters and numbers are positioned on the tag. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

The AHH was made from 1941 to 1957.

First number is probably the spec number, second is the serial number. Pictures?

Zira I have attached some pictures of the AHH. The baler setup had a separate larger tank of maybe 4 gallons mounted elsewhere on the baler. There was not a mount or tank on the engine when I got it. I think the tank is the right one that replaced the oval tank but I have the wrong bracket. I got the tank off the internet. Other than finding a fuel tank for it I had to get an oem head and head gasket for it as the original head had the spark plug hole wallowed out. I remember running the engine before I replaced the head and the spark plug blew out and hit the roof of the barn. Lucky I wasn't leaning over the engine. The AHH will generally start on the second crank. The first crank with the choke and the second without. Allie

Thanks guys for the help. I am going with 723377 as the serial number and assume it was built August 1946. Of course I wonder what the two other numbers mean. I have attached a pic of the crankcase breather popit device my engine has instead of the tube running from the crankcase to the intake air filter. Allie

Do you have the cap that goes on top of the breather? It keeps out dirt and the rain.

Aaron at one time I wondered why Wisconsin didn't have something different (better) to vent the crankcase. However, I had never seen any engine information that showed anything except (later??) a pipe from the crankcase to the air filter housing. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of what you are referring to? Allie

Allie I somehow missed your last post. In case you haven't found out what the breather cap looks like, I attached a scan from a model BKN Wisconsin engine. I imagine they are about the same. Looks like a pipe cap for copper pipe.

LO-67 is the Wisconsin part number for the AHH breather assembly.
