Default 11yr Old Boy Gets Early Xmas Gift

Yesterday my grandson Andrew and I went to pick up his Christmas present. His great-grandpa gave him a 1936 Farmall F-12. The tractor was purchased new by his great-great-grandpa from the IH dealer in Osage, Iowa and was used to farm 120 acres near Osage. This would make Andrew the third owner of this tractor that has been in the family for more than 70 years. His great-grandpa recalls that a team of horses were traded in as part of the purchase. My brother owns our grandpa's 1938 F-14 that he bought new in 1939 and sold to my dad in the late 60's then traded to my brother in the early 90's making him the third owner. I feel that owning something like that is priceless and that an eleven year old boy has received a great Christmas gift. I have included pics of Andrew and great-grandpa Gene.

That's pretty awesome. Wish my grandpa was alive to give my boy anything, even a kiss.

Gene, Pat & Andrew,
What a heartwarming story of family and farming history!

Andrew,
as you grow older, you will realize how important this gift is and how truely fourtunate you are

You folks made my day with pictures and text of this proud and fine looking young man and his start into one of the very best hobbies

Very neat! It's great to see the hobby being carried on like this, especially with a tractor that has been in the family since new!

I have my grandfathers '53 Ford. I have spent many hours on it cutting hay. I feel lucky to keep it for my kids,

Good to read, I started out when my dad bought back into the family my grandpas 49 zau moline. He then gave it to me to fix and enjoy, Many molines later and Twin Citys I went out and bought the first tractor I ever drove. A 53 Allis CA that belonged to a departed friend. Just running them enlightens the soul and memories! They are not the most valuable in the collection but surely will be the last to go.
