Default '39 Case D Cylinder head problems

Hello.
I have a 1939 Case "D" that i'm restoring and i'm having a load of bad luck with cylinder heads. The original head was cracked so i managed to find a replacement which i have rebuilt and put on the tractor, only to find that when i filled it with water, there was water seeping out from the one of the cylinder head studs - another crack!

Anyway, i am looking for a replacement. It is an early "D" so therefore has horizontal spark plugs (as opposed to inclined). A model "C" head would be ok as i could modify it to take pressure fed rocker lubrication.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Andy

If it doesn't have to look right, you can put a later D head on it without any problems. You can probably get more HP out of it, but the plugs will be angled.

Finally had my Case D running earlier in the week after much heartache with cylinder heads! It runs really well and i'm glad to report that all fluids are staying where they should do!! It Feels good when something goes right for a change!

I'm going to spend a bit more time on it this weekend so hopefully post a photo or two soon.

Thanks

Andy
