It turns out that the battery in my brothers truck which runs the glowplugs was getting weak, so no need for the 3600rpm portable screamer generator just yet. Thanks for all of the replies.

One thing many people don't think about is fuel supply. If the generator runs out of fuel under load, there is a good possibility that the regulator will destruct. Some generators will tolerate being shut down under load and some won't. Best to read the instructions before you learn the expensive way.
