Giving my Cameron Sutherland mixer a test run with my clapped out old Mcdonald diesel. Trying to work out what the ideal drum speed is.

Still a bit fast I reckon Nathan.
About the only way to really see is chuck in some sand and gravel and mix a batch. Slower is better then quicker.
Are there spiraling flutes/fins in the bowl or are they bits of flat welded as the mixers? My guess would be flutes so you can get the mud out. How do you get the mud out?

Cheers Scott

Yes I was thinking might be slightly fast. Might have to put a jack shaft in to help gear it down some more. There are fins and cups, the fins help guide into the cups and the cups lift it up to the top and it falls back to the bottom. None of the fins or cups are tight up against the barrel there is a slight gap to allow for cleaning. There is a bung in the barrel which you can take out and that will drain what ever is left over and allow for cleaning.
Once I put it to work I will do a video to demonstrate it all better.

Not exactly an engine video but might still be of interest.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrLt5vED7sw
It is a video of recently acquired Kelly and Lewis Centrifugal pump size 1 type H
I would be interested to know what the max rated speed is for it.
Cheers, Nathan

Hello Nathan
Thanks yet again for another video. I've heard about a Kelly and Lewis pump sitting in a shed in town. I have yet to investigate. From what's been told to me, it has Kelly and Lewis cast on the impeller cover.

Cheers Scott

Australia day crank up 2019. Only a little crank up compared to normal because I had a few other things on and didn't have time to get much out.

The intake is done, would look better in brass. Just need to mount a fuel tank on the cooling tank, fuel lines to suit and a muffler.
