Question 10-20 McCormick Deering color

I am going to be putting some paint on my 10-20 this summer. I know late ones were red and most were grey... I believe mine was grey but was wondering... I've seen nicely painted 10-20's in a lighter grey tone and others with a very dark grey color... Were both of these original paint tones? I'd prefer to put the original color back on it if possible.
Thanks,
Dale

Well.... According to an Old Freind ( Now Deceased) The Early ones with the keyed axles and Ball on the shift lever (Pre about 1926) were the lighter gray... But the later ones untill 1936 were the darker gray. There were a few made that actually should have been Red but some were painted red to modernize them....

This one isn't quite that old... Has the splined axles and double nuts. There is some paint left on it but is mostly black looking now. This one came from up above Wausaw. The rear steel was broken and "field repaired". Found a replacement set from Bub up to Eau Clair.
You making your way to Baraboo next weekend for their swap meet Ken?

I have a 1924 model, with the round governor case and the knob on the gearlever, anyone know what would be the correct number for paint on it?

Hi i use the dark gray on mine it's a Dupont number #27625 or a NAPA # 8711
If you want the light gray i have no idea what the numbers are.
