Default Re: Tutorial on CDI ignitions?

We have done a little experimenting with that to no avail. The problem as i see it is the lack of velocity to generate enough voltage for the lawnmower cdi to work. Most of my customers want the longest run as these engines are powering oil wells and no run = no oil, no oil = no paycheck.

Expense? These run about the same price as two mag overhauls and are garranted to run a year. It's common to do two mag jobs in a year or so when you run 24/7 so it's basically a trade off. I've seen these run 8-9 years, it's common to get 2-3 anyway. When repairs are needed they are less than an average mag repair cost.
