Not familiar with that exact matter model but am somewhat with the 98 RC. It did not have a generator or the pully you describe. A picture might be helpful. In my mind I wonder if the extras might have been added on after the fact?

from what I understand the 98rba was a witte stock production unit 5.6k output, I will have to get some pictures posted I suspect the pulley would have to be the size if the flywheel of course v grooved because the smaller alternator pulley is about 10 or more inches in diameter.

It may need to be made. Arrow bought Witte from National Oliwell quite a few years ago. Before NO became Varco. Arrow has let most of the parts dwindle to nothing. If I see what it is you need I might be able to either find something or make one. I'm sure others near you could do the same.

Thank you, I suspect from looking at other pictures of gen sets, that the pulley would be a modified flywheel with groves the same diameter as the right side flywheel I will try to get some pictures uploaded and crankshaft output diameter and flywheel diameter . Thanks again.

Still trying to figure out how to upload pictures, anyway the flywheel starter side measures 20 inches across and the diameter is 2.00 . and the output shaft diameter is 1.934 has a damaged wood drift key, that might explain what happened to the flywheel pulley, the keyway is very repairable. the output shaft stub is guessing about 3 inches long, any Ideas, looking to have one made as long as I don't have to mortgage my house?? Thanks

David Johnson is the fellow who can tell you for a fact what you have and what parts you may need. He may even give you some names to help find used parts.
Like Ed I am familiar w/ the Witte 98 RC. Standing behind the engine the left side has the flywheel....on the RC it's just a flywheel no pulley no v belt grooves nothing. On the right side you would see a clutch system with a multi groove v belt output pulley, a second pulley on the engine side of the clutch ran the condenser fan (cooling fan).
If you just need a pulley to run the fan and alternator and I assume both of these items drive from the right side of the engine. just buy a QD pulley about 10" dia with a bushing that fits the 1.94 output shaft.

there is no power take off on the fan side of the motor, just a 2in OD. by 4in long keyway. crankshaft stub, flywheel side has a 20 inch electric start toothed flywheel with folding crank handle in flywheel

Then I would think a sheave or pulley of whatever diameter you choose would fit right on the 2" shaft. You would use whatever series QD bushing to adapt it on. These are redily available.

QD sheaves come in various series, SD, SF, E for example. You find the size od sheave you want, an example would be a 20" 2B (has two B section grooves). It will be from a series, SF possibly. You would use a SF 2" hub or bushing to adapt the sheave to the shaft. Done.

Here's an example. This is a 20" 3C sheave on an E 2 1/4" bushing.

Hello I just want to thank everyone for their input, I got very lucky, I went back to the area that I got the witte from, and found the pulley, and then later found a complete gasket set, and rings, rod bearings, all bushings to overhaul the engine, a starter a nos electronic ignition with housing and pickup, belt guards, 3 sets of belts, a extra head complete, a set of valves, tappets, murphy oil shutoff,, engine runs fine after setting valves, the only problem I have is that the governor does not work at all, any ideas on that??? again Thanks To Everyone.. TW.
