Thanks for the kind words Skidmore. I have a couple of pics in a previous post showing the cracks before I made any repairs. The crack on the bottom of the cyl. that runs through the cooling water inlet was the worst. The water inlet has lost most of the threads to rust and corrosion. The crack on the side was not nearly as wide and of course didn't run thru any threaded ports.
I basically just vee'd the cracks out with a blue blade on my grinder and filled them with epoxy. the crack repair has worked great so far. After the epoxy had set up I chased what was left of the water port threads with a pipe tap and doped the pipe nipple with plenty of silicon sealant and all has worked well so far.
I am hoping that at some point I might find a cyl that has not been hard water cracked that I could replace the one I have. The main issue I have with this one is not as much the cracks as it is the bore, my cyl has set for a long time with water standing in the head end and it is pitted pretty bad. There is significant leak down at around TDC.
But it runs good enough to show I think.

'Twere it mine, I wouldn't do a thing to it. Since it is retired and no longer has to work hard, a little looseness makes it run better for show.
