You should absolutely not scrap a TC-12 under any circumstances. Even if it is in really bad shape someone wants it somewhere.

Unless there is a rush to move it,scrap aint bringing diddly squat. Let it sit and promote it's availability and someone will come up wanting it.

I could use the engines for a WW2 boat restoration project. Are they free for the taking?

This.../\/\/\...A collector or even a construction museum should be interested in it...there weren't that many of them ever built.

Hi, z-machine.
I have just e-mailed the link to this thread to a friend in DowNunda - Australia - who has four of them that he is working at restoring. Two of them were set up as a pair for chaining scrub and timber.

There were a whole six of them sold new in Australia and I know where 5 of them are today. There is also 1 more that was imported for a collection some years ago.

Please don't rush to scrap it as they are a rare beast and at least some of the parts will surely be of use to someone.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Back in the late 60s when the interstate system was being buil in the St. Louis metro area, the main contractor was an outfit called HHHall. they were the biggest in the state and got most all the major contracts in the Southern ILL area. They had a bunch of these dozers, I can still recall hearing them run even from a distance of a few miles. When the outfit was sold at auction in the late 70s, most of that equipment barely brought scrap value. All of it was well used and tired.
