Default Tom Stockton 1921-2012

On Tuesday, July 10, Tom Stockton (my father) died peacefully in his sleep at the ripe old age of 91. He had hoped his demise would be at the hand of a jealous husband, but instead the fire in his boiler just went out. There will be an informal get together at Muehlig's Funeral Home in Ann Arbor, MI on Saturday, July 14 from 10am to 2pm. Everyone is welcomed to this gathering.

I took a week long steam class from Tom several years ago at Domino Farms and talked to him at a number of machinery shows in the area since then. We enjoyed a cruise on his steam boat at the start of the class. I also enjoyed hearing him play his calliope. Tom was a true gentleman.

Very sorry to hear this Tom,
Your father was a true gentleman. I remember a very cold January day in 1991, visiting with him at his display building/museum. He said it was too cold for him to start the Sombart but he let me do the cranking and we got to see it run. What a great loss for your family and the engine community that he spent lots of time with.
Best wishes.

I met Tom at the first NAMES. show when it was held at
Dominoe Farms. He invited all the exibitors to his home for a
picnic after the show sat. evening. We got to see his collection
of neat stuff.
He was a great guy and well be missed.

My condolences on the loss of your father and the loss of a great asset to the engineering and modeling community. I've known Tom for many years in association with both NAMES and the Early Engine Club at Greenfield Village. Will miss him and the tunes from the colliope.
Our prayers are with you and the family.
