Default Leidecker Tool Co. What is this?



We were riding four wheelers this afternoon and went across were a fire had gone through and saw this laying on the ground. What is it?

It's a band wheel hub. It bolts to the center of the wood and the pitman arm and shaft run through it. Have never found a Leidecker in my area. They were casted out only 40 mile from where I live. Her is a picture on one made across the river from Marietta OH. in Parkersburg Wv.

Here is a couple of pics of it from the Leidecker Catalog that might make it a little clearer. But you definitely want to keep that from ending up on a boat to China It is one of the flanges for the big wooden wheel shown on the left of the second drawing. The belt from the clutch on the engine goes around it

I know of 3 Leidecker drilling rigs from the early 1900s that are setting in the woods in Wv. Would take some work getting them home but they would look nice in your yard.
