Default Clarence "Bunky" Mease Treasurer of Freeport IL Club passed away.

I just found out tonight at the Library that Clarence "Bunky" Mease passed away last Wednesday.

He was the Treasurer of the Stephenson County Antique Engine Club in Freeport Illinois, along with handling the ticket booth at the clubs Silver Creek & Stephenson Railroad.

Some on here may know him through the 2 cylinder John Deere club and/or the Northwest Illinois Deere Collectors club. He was also a board member of the 'Gathering of The Green' John Deere club.

I'm not sure what other shows he traveled to, but I have run in to him at Sycamore Illinois over the years.

It caught me by surprise when the Librarian informed me of it tonight, and I don't know any details as to what happened. The Funeral is tomorrow morning at Faith United Methodist Church in Freeport IL.

He was 75 years old.

He will be missed.

He was missed even more at the Train of Terror as he always mans the ticket booth.

I don't remember how many years he was the treasurer of the club or if there was anyone between my Dad and him or if he took it over when Dad stepped down from it. It's been a LONG TIME anyway and he will be hard to replace.

I did find out at the Funeral that he went in to the hospital for knee surgery, but I didn't want to pry too much to find out what went wrong there to end up the way it did. It was quite a shock to hear about it.
