Default Alten s-6 pump jack

I have a Alten pump jack in great condition. What is a good electric motor to make it run? I have been told 1hp or less with no load. Also the rpms? At Portland I was told that the jack operates at 8-10 strokes per minute. Thanks

If this is for display only you will probably need to remove the weights so it will roll free. You should be able to roll it through its entire stroke by hand. Be careful and not cut a finger off doing it though. If it will roll by hand a 1 hp motor should be fine. Go to a local motor shop and tell them what you want to do I'm sure they can fix you up. Only recommendation I have is rain proof.

I bought a 1hp electric motor with a 2 inch pulley, along with a 88 inch l4 v belt. Runs great! Now I just need the pump rod stuff to attach to the horse head.
