Default Reid popoff valve

Hey,
is there any reason why this would not work as a charging cylinder relief valve on a 15 hp reid.

http://www.grainger.com/product/APOL...ef-Valve-3EEY2
im just assuming its cheaper that finding an original one.

Has a rubber seat in it (EPDM. The heat might make it fail. I guess how long you run the engine would determine your success.

I haven't seen too much for Hot tube stuff as of Late.. My Reid has been SouthDakotaized.. It came to South Dakota in the 1960's and since hot tubes were not too popular around here someone converted it to Spark Plug and Buzz Coil.. Also Runs on a Tractor Carburator.. BUT It works and runs Good luck on the New Project
