Default briggs ZZ plug wire insulation

Where the plug wire solders to the armature on a briggs ZZ, what do you use to insulate this? I read the manual and it says to save the putty or ? to reuse but mine is dry and brittle.

Do not solder the plug wire to the coil lead out tower. Tin the end of the wire, thread it thru the lead out tower and bend the end of the wire over. Soldering the tower can damage the coil.

Go to page 20 of the manual I send you the link for. It says there do not solder.

Ok but the original Q is still what do you use to insulate this terminal? And I do appreciate your patience.

None of the Briggs engines I have taken apart had any kind of sealer on the sparkplug wire at the coil.

if you have to have some insulation there, silicone should work just fine just dont get carried away with it or you will have a mess!

Ok, I tinned the new lead and installed the hopefully good armature. Both were soldered, but not now. I checked the point gap and I needed to get some chalk which I now have and tomorrow I'll check clearances.
