1 W.

12s are more rare. 12" stoke not 13". The bull gear is open all the way through, 13s only have a small hole in the middle.

1W... lol

Thanks for the info. Some parts on it are numbered 13W and some are 12W but, from the pics I've been able to find, that seems to be the norm.

I started to disassemble it and, so far, it's coming apart very easily considering all of the time it's been outside. The project is on hold, though, as another hobby is requiring too much of my time (and $$$) right now.

Thanks,

Drew

I have a 13W. Don't know anything about a 12, but I do have an 11W Jensen. It's not a balance beam style.. Anxious to learn more. dbsleder@yahoo.com

Does anyone know how many strokes per minute a 12w or 13w should be operating at? I finally got mine going but the electric motor I have it connected to is driving it at ~50 strokes/minute; too fast for sure.

Thanks again for all the help!

Drew

Ah, I just saw on the tag on the pump jack that it shows 40 strokes/minute... I think I'll slow it down a fair bit from that for display.

Regards,

Drew

Restoring a Jensen w13,
I wondered if anyone knows how much oil capacity it has?
It says 20 w in the winter, 30 w in the summer, on the tag,but no oil capacity.

They should have a little filler cup on the side, just fill it till no more will go in. That = not very much.

I have two old Jensen pumpjacks that we used to use on our farm to pump water. The smaller one appears to be a 13W. On the larger one the identifying number is 25DC12, if I am reading the right number.

I have seen some discussion about the value of the 13W, but so far I have not seen any information about what the bigger jack might be worth.

The fellow who pumps the oil wells on the place has expressed an interest in buying them, but neither of us knows what a fair price would be.

If anyone here has an idea what would be a fair price in the current market I would appreciate that information. If he doesn't buy one or both of them they will be available in case anyone is interested in them.

Thank you.

The 13w I think $1000.00 -$1250.00 is fair. If all is there and nothing's broke. The 25 I don't think will bring that much but then again it might. I expect $500.00 - $750.00.

Thank you sir. I appreciate that information.

Both jacks are complete. They haven't been used for many years, and their cosmetics suffer from being outdoors for so long, but their cases are intact and are still holding oil and they both still rotate.

Again thanks. This is a great site, and I have passed it along to friends of mine who are interested in the same stuff.
