Smile Show us those early mowers!

Just thought I would start a thread on something different. Lets see some pics of some early powered mowers from about 1920-1935. The more rare and obscure the better. I'll start off with a few Lockes with FI and M series engines.

My 1935 Coldwell Cub. A somewhat recent purchase, and now my favorite mower!

Question about Andrew Sine's Ideal mower in post # 3. What model Ideal engine is that? It's not a model V or model S. I have two of that type engine (no mower), and have been trying to id the model type.

1974 Mowett Mustang. I hope to get it running while I am off for Christmas. It even has the rare plow attachment, we'll see how that performs

Early Sears branded deck with a 2 stroker pre- Tecumseh motor. It has decent compression but I had a very hard time ever getting it to start even though carb was clean, and timing and spark was correct. When it did run it was down-right scary with no safety devices whatsoever and just a few washers " securing" the blade. The deck is so thin and flimsy. It screamed because the governor was never hooked up right so it would just run wide open..... WAAAAYYYY too fast!!

It was ugly when I got it but I repainted it to original color specs.
Wheels are obviously not original, I ditched the original because I didn't like them because they were small so the mower would cut too short even on the highest setting.

Sorry I know none of these are anywhere near 1935 but I couldn't resist showing them off.

Mike Im still trying to figure out how to link videos to a post. I always like watching your new mower aquisitions, some really nice machines and always run great. My favorite is the large base FH Moto. You need to find an FE one next.
