Default Unknown Wisconsin needs IDed

It came with a starter/generator that turned out to be bad. No ID tag at all, and it was a battery ignition system.

Looks like AEN or AENL. If you are not going to pull the head, get the numbers off the mag or carb.

Last I checked, an AENL has 6 head bolts not 8. That is a Wisconsin BKND with a pretty unusual Prestolite distributor setup.

Hi

Chris nailed it I would say the same because of the shape of the head.

Many thanks for the ID on this one. I have only seen one other like this one with the battery ignition, and it was on an OLD Snapper rider.

The carby is definitely a Zenith, and the only things I can find stamped on it is Zenith Made in USA. I've listed it on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. No bites on it though.

What was the trouble with the starter generator?

No voltage output. Cleaned all contacts in the regulator, and also cleaned the commutator/brushes. The regulator worked fine on a different generator. The only thing I didn't have was a growler to check the armature.
