Default Help ID Possible Wisconsin

Hi could someone please lend their expertise to id this engine.I am only guessing its a Wisconsin with nothing more than it looks similar to a Wisconsin that I have on a sawmill.I have not been able to locate any identification tags on it other than a small piece of a patent number on the air shroud.Thanks for looking

It is a VE4 ( 3x31/4) or VF4 (3/14x31/4). It is an older unit as buy the oil filter and I do not see a starter.

Definitely a VE4. That one has been sitting for many years. They haven't made that style of oil filter can since the 70's.

It is either a VD4, VE4 or VF4. The only way to know which one it is, is to pull a cylinder head and measure the bore.

Thanks for the input if it is in fact a VE4 what would the horse power be?Any suggestions on reasonable parts stores BC Canada for this motor

i belive you have a VF4, a VE4 would have had cast iron heads, two round clean out ports on the back of the air shrouding, & the old wire type of shrouding retaining clips over the cylinder heads
