Default 25 HP Pattin 4 cycle

This engine is now on display at Coolspring Power Museum. From the late John Wilcox collection.

Awesome... I've been to John's several times and admired that engine. I have one similar to it, also 25HP. John noted that my was a "new style". It's a very interesting design, as it used parts of a Reid Governer in a horizontal position, and the detant lever was flat, spring loaded bar which the governer pushed.

This engine is HEAVY... I would love to get her going again...

Chris,

Do you know if the governor balls are original because they don't look like Pattin Bros and I have a 20 HP with the plain balls on mine and the intake box is on the bottom of the valve box instead of the front like John's

Tom as far as I know they are original. It is strange to see the machined weights as on this Pattin. I've don't recall ever seeing another like this one. Possibly the larger engines were of this style?
