Default Jensen Early Model Steam Engine

Did Jensen make a model 10 that didn't have the lamp post? Wasn't sure if this lamp holder was original or replaced.

No, they didn´t...

If there´s no hole in the enginebase for a lamppost, your´s is the older pre-war version, that should have a standalone lamppost.

The early one´s had the lamppost sitting approximately where you now have a Wilesco lamp.

I don´t know if it still is the case, but one or two years ago, Jensen still had standalone lampposts in stock.
If it doesn´t show on their online partslist, i´d suggest that you give Dorita a call, and ask if they have any.

VERY nice looking engine

By older, i am referring to the cast iron enginebase itself, as the plant is one of the later riveted boiler versions.

Steve,
Your engine should have the stand alone lamp post where the bulb socket is now. There should be a hole in the base under the lamp socket and a sawcut channel on the bottom of the board where the wires to the original lamp post ran. Looks like a very nice engine you have there.
