Red face Bernard W71 Help Needed Please

I have a Bernard W71 single cylinder diesel engine and I need help locating both engine oil and fuel filter numbers for this engine. Is there anyone out there that can help.. I tried posting back in 2012 but Had no response.

If any of our European friends are viewing, maybe you can help.
I would like to get this engine back up and running, but I have to service it before that is possible.

I tried a search by size, again, no results. Surely someone has to have some information on these old Bernard engines, any advise will be appreciated.

Frank

Can't help you in this case, but wanted to acknowledge that your post was seen at least. I'll keep my eyes open for info on that brand.

I have searched a number of filter catalogues and only found one reference to Bernard. This is in a Bosch 1972/73 catalogue. It lists Bernard Trucks, engines W31, W34, F32, T, 41. The Bosch part numbers for all these models is OIL 1 457 429 181 and FUEL 1 457 431 324. Both these filters are of the cartridge type. Does your engine have cartridge or spin on filters? If you need cartridge filters these numbers may assist. I know nothing of the Bernard engines and wonder if they may have been sold under another name. Strange how they disappeared from the filter catalogues. The W71 shows up in the Bosch injector listings. Perhaps you could give us some dimensions for the filter if you have no luck.

Benard was French engine maker. Been around a long time. As to finding filters I have no secret, just a lot of time spent with filter catalogs looking thru spec's is all I can suggest.

Hugh, I did a google search on the numbers you listed for fuel filters with little luck, the oil filter numbers are promising. I'm going to have to pull the oil filter to get a size reference and go from there. Thanks for the help.
