Default WDM 16-30 Model H Rumely Restoration

Hello Everyone!

I’d like to share some pictures of one of our most recent restoration projects – a 1922 Rumely model H 16-30 OilPull tractor. This engine was restored by volunteers from the Pioneer Threshermen’s Club at the Saskatoon Western Development Museum. The project was started in the winter of 2011 and completed by spring 2012. The Rumely sat in storage at the WDM for decades in in-operable condition since being acquired in 1960. The volunteers did a complete mechanical overhaul, replaced or fabricated numerous parts and cosmetically restored the engine based on thorough research. It ran for the first time this summer and was featured at the 2012 Pion-Era vintage power show in Saskatoon before being transferred to the Yorkton WDM. The most amazing part of the restoration was that it was done for less than $1,500!

Enjoy the pictures.

More pics of the project. Some of the team pictured are (L to R
Glenn Grassing, Ron Wood and Derle Care). There are more, but they were a little camera shy!

Excellent work by a very talented and dedicated team.

Thanks Norm

It does sound great! The kids at the show were delighted to hear it (and a fair amount of adults as well!). Once in a blue moon it even belched out a perfect smoke ring....when asked if that was intentional, the operator said 'yes' completely straight faced and putted away.....!

Looks very good, something to be proud of. It is good to see that a group of voulenters could work together till the job was finished. We did not have such luck when a group went to work on our 1928 G.M.C. (Pontiac)truck. They just quit for some reason or an other.
