Default Hart Parr 12-24

I am working on a Hart Parr 12-24 and need to put oil in the transmission. It tells you to use light transmission oil. On the old 18-32 Case it tells you to use heavy steam oil. I used 600 weight steam oil in the Case and it works good. Now with that in mind and the fact that both tractors came from the same time frame would the Hart Parr need 400 weight steam oil or something like W-140 transmission oil. The final drives on that tractor uses the used motor oil and you keep it drained down to the right level.
What have some of you used in your Hart Parr tractors?
Thanks Fred Milner

Too heavy an oil in there won't spash to lubricate the ball bearings throughout the transmission.
I use 80-140 in all my tractors.......including my 18-36 and the others I used to have. They aren't fussy......as long as the bearings get oil.
