Default Dayton 3500 watt gas powered generator

HI I have an old Dayton power plant with a Briggs engine model #23AF8 generator model#1W517 3500watts,115/230v,AC with the operating manual,s what I.am looking for is the engine h.p ratting.These manuals and the data engine plate do not show this info.

The engine is about 9 HP. It uses the Briggs Magnematic magneto which is KNOWN to have coil problem. The coil problem to the newbe LOOK like a carb problem. You can data the manufacture of the engine by looking at the Briggs serial number list posted in the technical info section of http://www.smokstak.com/library/tech...nical-data-25/.
