Default GMC 8-268A Submarine Auxillery Engine

Would anyone happen to know how much this GMC 8-268 Weighs?

What is something like this worth?

Thanks

Around here about .05c a pound, your yard may pay more/less. Someone that collects old engines might pay a little more, or you might be able to donate it to a museum and get a better write off on your taxes. It is an old obsolete engine, have serious doubts any commercial enterprise would be interested in it, even if it is in running condition. Not trying to be harsh, it is just the harsh reality.

My literature shows an 8-268A as weighing 14,050lbs with a 6-3/8" bore, 7" stroke and a rating of up to 400hp @ 1300rpm. They are seriously beautiful and sweet running engines. A friend has a 3-268A which runs a 100kw 1200rpm generator and it runs really nice. I wish I had the space & means to add one of those Cleveland diesels to my collection.

That sounds like something the fellow would want that runs that museum in Carthage NC. Ederville I think it is.100 years of progress show. I think his name is Ken? Runs a company that cleans up after train wrecks.
