Default Hercules DJX

Can anyone confirm the beginning date of the DJX series Hercules engines was 1935? Also wonder what differences were between the DJX and DJXB? I know the DJXB, DJXC and possibly the DJXD came at the same time too (main difference is bore size). I don't have any catalogs from that era.

I have mention and pics of the DX in 7 th edition "Diesel Engineering handbook" copyright 1934 and specs for the DJXB, DJXC, of 1936-1946---also DJXD of 1941-1946 in "Motor's Truck Repair Manual" covering these years. I will try to scan and post soon tonite or tomorrow. The DX was likely a developmental model --was bigger B&S than the DJX's and the later engines of same B&S were called DHXB or DFXB.
A "Dyke's Automobile and Gas Engine Encyclopedia" of the 1934-1936 will have a chart that can shed some confusion on the issue--if you can find the right page. My Dyke's are too new or too old- I gave a friend the one we need.

Thanks.
I also have the '42 Motor and the '42 diesel Engine Catalog. I'm looking in relation to Cletrac crawlers and I can find a reference back to 1935 for the DJX series in the Model 30 Diesel. That engine has a long life, with the D298 lasting into the 1980

Well, it looks like '35 is it. Might have been announced in '34 but the first time it appears in Cletracs and anywhere else I can find in a corporeal production form is '35. Actually, a pretty advanced engine for the day.
