Exclamation Re: Harley Davidson.

Put many a mile on one of those, usually with one passenger and sometime two, if we could get a skinny gal to sit between us, got a few jab's in my ribs for "misbehaving" .. That gave way to a 47 AJS 500cc single "thumper"..Traded that one for a 1000cc,4 cyl Ariel Square Four.. There were a few Whizzer motor bikes and couple Cushman scooters before the real Harley, at least at that time, small "motor" as they were called back then..

Keep us posted on your progress and I'll try and find the photo's of my 2 wheelers of years gone by..

well, at least you are not getting bored.
The Hummer engine actually derived from the German DKW.
Many companies after WWII, used this little engine to get the masses moving again. In England it was the BSA Bantam, in Japan the Yamaha got the bike rolling. Reliable, and strong enough for the time and purpose. Have fun.
