The more people you let know about auctions the less chance you have at getting a good deal.

to some its not about getting a good deal,as to others its a great pleasure to see some old friends at these sales... Money & Iron isnt everything,we are only here for a short time so lets make the best of it for everyone. Yes, there will be days when you step in poop..Good luck to stakers who can attend.

When ever my buddies and I go to a sale it is about trying to get a good deal. This stuff aint gettin no cheaper. Theres nothing wrong with seeing your buddies at a sale but I dont go to sales just to stand there freeze and shoot the breeze all day. I'm sorry for the little rant. I guess I just dont understand why some people feel the need to advertise this stuff. Thats what the seller pays the auction company for.

Matt L, i also dont want to take this thread to the wrong side. I believe this is where to list these kinda sales on this Sub Forum as the header does say "Live Auctions of Engines, Tractors and Old Iron"

Thats fine more power to him. i know the right people will be there any way weather or not it was listed on here. When this kind of stuff goes up for sale I know there isnt going to be many deals any way. It just baffles me why some people feel the need to post this stuff. I guess you all like paying top dollar

This subject has been beat to death for years. Personaly, if there is an item that I want I wouldn't advertise it. If the owner does thats fine. But, why would I want to drive up prices by bringing in bidding competition?
Most sales that I go to are well advertised so I know a lot of guys there already. We usually wind up making a deal " I'll lay off of that one if you don't bid on this" and so forth.

Auction sales are for buying, engine shows are for shootin' the breeze.

OUCH! Thanks for giving away the secret, Galan! I've bought many items at auctions in many different states and haven't noticed much of a pattern as far as getting deals. The best way to get one is to be there yourself.

Those of you who want to keep auctions secret, make sure you don't tell any of us when you decide to sell your stuff at auction.

I'm going as a spectator to watch the Briggs guys go at it.

I don't see a starting time listed. Matt L, what time should I get there?

I'm looking for a cylinder oiler like the one shown on the little single flywheel German engine if anyone has a spare laying around.

It's not likely that I'll be telling anyone about my auction. It will likely be my estate that will be doing the advertising for that! Until then, see you at the auction!

We are all looking for the best deals in general..,& at auctions. But when auctions/auctioneers charge the famous "Buyers Premium-Bidders Charge-Internet Premium",that detours me in going or bidding "Online".I don't mind paying a fair price for an item/engine,but add the extra-fees,will hurt an auction or sale. The item/engine should sale for the sale price..I pay enough stupid taxes & fees.If the auctioneers want to have a great successful auction, leave the fees out of the auction! The items will bring more $$
Just my OPINION!

Internet Premium: 17%
See Special Terms for additional fees
Cash Payment Discount: 2%

You must be kidding. No auction of this importance goes unnoticed these days. Auctionzip or liveauctioneers had already announced it to the entire world.
