Default GE 2KW DC Generator+6 hp Tecumseh

I picked this up as a project for my 6 year old grandson and I to mess around with. Model is 5K225B26, wondering if anyone had any information on the generator portion?

Neat! I do love Direct Current machines.

You could slow it down some, and cut in some field resistance to get it down to 120 volts so you could run light bulbs and series motor equipped tools. Would be 1 kW continuous then. Or could run pairs of 120 volt bulbs in series.

The device that outputs 4 - 20 ma is designed to interface with a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Looks like it converts a 0 - 1000 ohm signal into the standard 4 - 20 ma signal used with those systems. I have no idea what it does with the generator.
