Default Kohler K91T Ignition Upgrade

Can the K91's points and condensor ignition system be converted to an electronic ignition system?

You should be able to replace the points & condencer with an Atom Ign module.

Why would you want to replace the tried and true points setup on your Kohler? With a little searching you can find NOS points and condenser without trouble. In my opinion, battery ignition and or electronic ignition (Atom/Pertronix) is not an upgrade, its a downgrade.

What Ktron said.

Why would you want to replace something dead simple and reliable, that can be fixed in a jiffy if something goes wrong, with a little mystery cube that either works or it does not? It's true, all cars have had electronic ignitions for years but it's not a good comparison to try to equate those sophisticated and highly engineered systems with some gadget that was cooked up by some small time entrepreneur. Do ourself a favor and stick with the tried and true.

Thanks for the response guys.
The topic came up and I thought I would ask here to see what you folks had to say. I've already found replacement parts for the points and condensor.
