Default 4HP at farm auction

This past Sat. I arrived at a local Ontario farm auction just as the auctioneer's hammer fell, sold 650 dollars! I thought someone got a great deal. When I returned on Sunday to pick up my goodies I was told by the owner that it did not meet the reserve. He is willing to negotiate and I believe it could still be had for under its actual value. If it was mine I would post it in the forsale section, but it is not mine to sell, so I hope you don't mind me posting here. I have a few more pictures and the also have the owners contact info if your interested.

Thanks for posting Renee,
I'm not an expert, but is that part of a rigged up ignition I see through the flywheel? And is the fuel tank made out of a stainless cream separator bowl?
Unusual muffler for an Associated; on a non stock cart -BUT it definitely has possibilities. I don't know what it's worth or selling for, but if I were in the market, I wouldn't pass it by without a look for sure. Kevin

Hi Kevin
I'm not a collector or expert when it comes to these machines. However I do now it runs and yes the cart is something he threw together to make it easier to move around. He told me that he takes it to one show a year in Southern Ontario. He did tell me the fuel tank was original and I did'nt think to have a closer look. Maybe an (original) cream seperator bowl??? I don't know? In the picture to the right is an electric light switch acting as a kill switch.

I would like to trade the owner or future owner a set of straight axle cast iron wheels for those rear wheels. Those would make very nice flywheels on a small steam engine my father got me for my birthday when I was eight years old in 1978. I have a flywheel on the engine, but I have been waiting on just the "right" wheels to find for the engine. I can machine a crown on those and bore the shaft to the proper diameter.
