Default 1910 Chase built in Syracuse, NY up for auction

July 12, at the Morris Fairgrounds, in Morris NY in case you know anyone interested, it's a 3 cylinder, chain drive, high wheeler style, that was in Walt Myer's NY Auto Museum in Bridgewater, NY years ago and more recently on display st the museum in Norwich, NY. I looked this machine over last night but didn't have a camera with me , it is an older restoration but driveable., and very VERY rare. A friend of mine thinks it could be one his grandfather bought in Cooperstown, NY, where it had been a delivery vehicle, when he died in 1938 they sold it for $5, it went to Portlandville, then Oneonta, and finally to a museum somewheres.

No, this one is mostly black with red wheels, wood frame is clear polyurethane coated. An older restoration, not AACA "perfect" but driveable, if I thought I could walk (drive?) away with it for only $5,000 I would try. A friend of mine thinks it may be the one his grandfather owned in Hartwick, NY, when the grandfather died in 1938 they sold it for $5 to a man in Portlandville, from there it was traced to Oneonta and all that could be learned is it went from there to "a museum". So it could very well be that Walt Myers obtained it for his "New York State Auto Museum" on Rt. 20 in Bridgewater, NY that closed a few decades ago. Defintely a neat little machine.
The Otsego County Fairgrounds, where homestead Auction Services is holding the auction July 12, is off state Rt. 23 in Morris onto Mill St. and then right on Lake St (past the old Linn tractor plant).

WOW I do repeat myself Anyway Dave Petrie of Hartwick, NY said his grandfather had purchased the Chase truck just like this one from an outfit in Cooperstown, NY that used it as a delivery vehicle.

Got the year wrong, it's a century old, up for auction this saturday. I need to buy another (used) truck, but I don't think this will be it.
