Nice looking engine. Appears to be a Natural Gas model. I can't see a fuel pump and it looks like a natural gas attachment at the intake area. I could be wrong. The oiler on it looks like it may be one of the tin FM dishpan oilers. If I owned it I believe I'd leave it just like it is. Dirt, grease and all!

I was told that the engine ran a cider mill on the farm there and was installed in 1909.

I think it is sad to see an old farm and items kept by the old people just pawned and divvied up. Too bad no one wants to keep it, but maybe a grandson will bid it up and buy it.

I'm planning on being there since I have family that lives close by. I was hoping for a small crowd but I guess everyone knows about it now.

I agree, I'd get it running but preserve the look it has now.

Interesting that it's gas and not gasoline. I wonder what their fuel source was???I think the oiler is the right Lonergans . It looks to be filthy so the sides look like steel instead of glass. The oiler on the crankshield is missing. I'll bet there's lots of Otto brown under the dirt. Has the Sumpter B mag on it too. Rob

With the internet nothing is a secret anymore. Seen this a couple weeks ago and was wondering when it would show up on here.

Don't see these engines come up for auction often, going to be fun.

Sometimes,, just sometimes,, there are a lot of "kling on's " and dont bid but just clog up everything, with a lot of people and not many hands sometimes the auctioneers get jumpy and let the stuff go,, its all what somebody is will to pay

So who is heading to south jersey tomorrow for the auction? Many more pictures on auctionzip to look at now than there were before. Someone will get a nice engine tomorrow.

Likely $9500 is a starting bid. Last 1 of those I saw sell was at the Peter Knight auction. It was a late 6hp pretty close to the same style as this 5. It went around $28000. Rob

The engine looks to be missing a few small parts. Why is there wire wrapped around the water jacket? Hopefully it isn't cracked.

I just got here. Rain finally stopped. Bottom of water jacket is pretty rough.

Sometimes in NJ we have some "HARD" water.Nice thing that water jacket comes off. Remove the head/etc. and it should slide off if not full of rust and deposits. I think it was built around 1915/16. Rob

The Otto sold for $19k. Going to Washington state.
The IHC M sold for $900.

There must be a Otto collector in Washington there was another Otto at coolsprings that was heading up there, unless its a coincidence.
