Default 10 hp Sparta at Baraboo auction

Several years ago there was an auction at the Baraboo show. It had two 10 hp Sparta Economys listed. Does anyone know where they went or what they sold for? How many 10 hp Spartas are there? Time gets away from me it may have been six or seven years ago. I was supposed to have a guy going to the sale to bid for me but he decided not to go.

George helped me out with a cam gear and muffler on my 12HP a few years ago. I do think he has them all.

There was one 10 Hp Sparta at Baraboo. Mr Martin has the engine now. I was next to last bidder, the engine sold for about $7800 plus auctioneer fee and tax. I remember thinking it was going to be over $8000 after the added expenses.

The man who bought the engine at the sale traded with Mr Martin for another engine. It may have been an Otto?

I think there are four known 10 Sparta Economys.

Thanks for the info. I new there was not very many 10 Spartas out there. My first hit and miss was a 2 hp Sparta that was in a box and 5 gallon bucket. I still have it. Now I have all but the 10 hp and I figure one will be hard to aquire. I really wish I had taken off of work and attended that sale in person. Oh well, live and learn. If one comes up for sale I would be interested.
