I removed some "patina" from the engine today and got to the casting numbers and engine number. The engine has the brass ID tag #32344 and the casting numbers on the block are AM1153 - 15. I believe this is the original 1925 engine fitted with later heads, manifolds etc and front cover. I have an early '27 20-35 and it's casting number is AM1153 - 17. The engine number on it, #33824, is stamped directly on the block as are all my later 20-35's

An addition to this project which is in the "gathering parts" stage.
I found another "parts tractor" locally which has a lot of the pieces that were replaced or missing on the first one. this one has the correct front axle and engine castings, complete radiator and some other small bits and pieces. Still no front wheels yet. I think these fenders are better also.

A few more pics.
I noticed the rear wheels on this one have plainer hubs than the other one. Engine number is earlier;-32102. Serial tag that came with it is later #7421. This tag is loose and may be from another tractor that was in the same area some years ago.

Looks good Phil, looks like the casting number on the engine is 14, but with cast valve covers. Did you get to serial number tag?

Paul; there was a serial number tag with the tractor but not mounted -- #7421. I don't know if it is from this tractor or not. As I mentioned in my post, it may be from another tractor that was there a number of years ago.

The rear wheels are different then my '25. Are they earlier or later?

Phil,

You keep making it harder for me not to plan a vacation to your area in the future. LOL

The the wheels on your second tractor I would say are newer. The lugs on the center hub, like on your older wheels, are machined on mine and where to accept extensions of some sort. I have never seen a pair but they are in the parts book.

Both tractors are 1925 or 26 by the fenders with the stiffening ribs in them.

Most 25 & 26 tractors I've looked at have tin valve covers, with the cast covers on older tractors.

Paul

Chas2545; I don't see a picture????

The serial plate that came with it is a '26 so that is probably the correct one for this tractor.
