Default PRINGLE, Wayne

The engine collecting world lost one of the old school independents with the passing of Wayne Pringle at his home in Winfield, BC on Friday, January 16th, 2015 at the age of 73.

Wayne was a long time collector and restorer of cars, gas engines, motorcycles, juke boxes and any other thing that happened to catch his fancy. He was considered an engine whisperer thanks to his amazing ability to diagnose both the obvious and the most obscure engine problems.

He lived by his own rules and was never afraid to let his opinion be known. He had no time for wise guys and smart alecks, was generous with his time and expertise and was always willing to help fellow collectors. He especially looked forward to the next engine recovery adventure in the wilds of BC.

Wayne was a fearless, intrepid sort, who, in his 60s, built a vintage dirt track motorcycle and raced it throughout the Okanagan with great success. He had the ribbons and scars to prove it and when he eventually realized it might be just a little too dangerous for a guy in his mid 60s, he retired from racing and built a half scale steam traction engine of his own design.

We will miss him. Rest easy, old friend.
