Dan,
Thanks for the pictures of this old girl. I was noticing in the second photo, that blacksmith repair of the A-frame outer main bearing. Thanks, as I didn't have the best picture of that. In about three of the engineer's platform pictures, you could see the "connector" that coupled the main steering shaft to the optional crow's nest extension shaft. That wheel can be placed down there to make a one man engine out of it. But why would a person do that on purpose, today? The first picture in post #39 shows the intercepting vbalve, or whatever it was called, at the top of the picture.

Has anyone called Bob Anderson and told him the news? im sure he will be tickled at Rollag with all the buzz about this engine.
is that a BB or C Marsh on there, what did the come out with?
Here's a picture of the 40 at Yorkton Saskatchewan. only about 2 hours from me, saw if for the 1st time a couple years ago. its # is 14944. how close is that to this one?

The big 40hp Gaar Scott is going to be the the big talk for a very long time and is one of the most famous engines out there but i want to know what you guys think on how it compares to other large engines for power and rank in comparison to all large engines... 40-140 Reeves.. 40-140 Rumley.. 40-140 Z3 Peerless..40hp Advance..45hp Minnapolis..40hp Avery..? what are your thoughts?

Dan,

I ran out of thanks buttons...but thanks for the amazing photos. As many of you know, some of us are planning a trip down later this afternoon. I can't wait to see the ol' girl in person.

Dan,
I ran out of thanks buttons too. Until I get reloaded... Thanks.

nrffarmboy,
I haven't welcomed you aboard yet, but welcome. I've ran two of the engines you talked about, so we'll have to see when this engine is up and running again. The Peerless is a 40-120 (regardless of what has been seen painted on the water tanks).
