What is this engine? Thinking about buying it because it looks so cool.

16 Cu.In. Military Standard engine. All made to the same specifications by various manufacturers. I've seen them made by Continental, Wisconsin & Chrysler. Probably more...
If it has a tag, it should say who made it & when.

There's a original maintenance manual for the -1, -2, and -3 versions of these engines on ebay right now. Search for "continental military engine".

I have an engine i bought for $15.00 that looks identical to this engine. I got it well over a year ago and gave up on it because the two magnetos were dry rotted and useless. Anyone know of a source for these? The label on them said, "Bedix-Scintilla"
Thanks-Howard
