Question BGA wiring questions, remote switch wires identification, bad rocker switch?

I have finally started on my BGA install for my house. I got it converted from 120v to 240v today.

I got this from a guy that ripped it out of hos RV before scrapping it. he just cut the wires.

I have 4 wires coming out of the control box. red, green blue brown
Blue is power for the fuel pump.
the others are???

I cant get it to shut off with the rocker switch on the control panel. Starts ok, but I have to disconnect the battery to get it to shut down. Everything in the control box looks un-molested. what should I test

Please post the full serial and model # or your unit as well as an email address so manuals and wiring diagrams can be sent to you. A couple of pics of the gen where the wires have been cut would probably help too. Lots of guys here willing to help but we need a bit more info to zero in. Cheers Dan

Give us the full model and serial number and a email and we'll get the wiring diagram and service manual to you. The experts will be along to help you. Don't let those wires touch each other or you till you get it figured out . You don't want a shocking experience or let the magic smoke out of your gen.

Those rocker switches are a weak point in the control system. Just a mechanical momentary contact switch. You could try some contact cleaner & work it back & forth several times. I have been replacing them with part #VLD2S00B-AZCOO-000 rocker switch from Allied Electronics, $6.95.

Is there a way to test the switch for proper operation? I am using a fluke on the 3 pins and do not get continuity between any of them when holding it on or off. I am questioning this on my own generator troubleshooting.

Thanks.

It sounds bad to me! The center terminal should be commom to both other terminals depending on which way you have the switch depressed.
