Not a onan.. but the next best thing.. lister ld2 with 2.5 kw winpower 115 230v gen.. made in 72 I believe. Paid 400.. but he swears it's a good runner.. has clean diesel in the fuel filter..

Might play with it tomorrow and see what happens..

Came with a kubota? Marine diesel missing a bunch if parts.. maybe I can get 50 for it on cl

Well finished up the aluminum treadplate cover and mounting the hood pjns to secure the cover. Covers my Onan BGM nicely and makes it super quiet with the cover on.

Took a 4 hour road trip (one way) on a beautiful fall day down through Maine to rescue a pair of gensets from Auburn and Casco.

The JB was in a race trailer and was running, then wouldn't start and stay running the next day - kicked out a reset. Cummings told him the thermal relay was no longer available so he replaced it with a smaller onan out of another motorhome.

The JC was the house backup genset for 30 years. Ran a week for a couple of outages back along the years. Only 4-8 hours at a time lately. The husband passed away a couple years ago, and when she went to start it this spring, the on/off button (the extra one to the right) issued a "swirl of smoke," so she replaced this with a propane generator. She is getting too old to manhandle cans of gasoline for this unit. As we were talking she was realizing that the 100 lb propane tanks would only last about 8 hours at full load. I hope she gets a decent sized tank.

That JC is a great find. It looks rough but they are such a nice set. The more I look and mess with mine, the better I like it. It too looked rough when I got it, dented sheet metal, mouse nests and left outside under a tarp then the tarp blew away. I am really considering doing a full blown refurbish on it and just keeping it for the house back up. It is bigger then what I need and I know the fuel cost will be higher then needed but it just tickles my fancy to listen to her run and I know it will power everything in my house plus the neighbors fridge.

Handyhiker1 and dmeed if you are considering to do a restoration here is a my video on restoring a 15.0 JC. It was my very first Onan and love the JC. I had many other Onan models since this restoration including a JB, but out of all the Onans the JC has my heart. The problem I had with the JC is the weight. All my Onans must be portable (on wheels) for my situation at home and the weight of the JC and it's skid with everything else was very close to 800 lbs and too heavy to roll around for me.

Soo close!!!!!
Glad you were able to get them, I had looked at the one in Auburn, and really wanted the one in Casco but alas as they say, a day late! Actually just a few hours late by the time I had contacted the owner in Casco.

That is why I have the heavy duty Onan movers. Actually thinking of a small trailer like I did with the CCK. That way I can move it with my UTV and roll it around the barn as needed.

Damn you JonnyC, now you really got me wanting to do it!! As soon as I get through these power jacks and do a barn clean up I will have to start to do my JC.
