Default Delco 850 1918

I bought a very nice early 850 with what amp hour meter on eBay very good condition but took the brush cover off and found the age old mouse nest and pulled the field coil asm off . looking and cleaning I saw the corner of a peace of paper in the engine cooling channel I posted the what I found if I did it right that is

Got the light plant on Thursday and heard it fire a few times on 24 volts time to get battery's you can see your self in the1918 paint lead you got to love it attached a couple of pics of the amp hour meter unrestored as found

Very very nice. Did you notice it working? I have one my Phelps and a few people commented not many work today. What batteries are you planning on running? I use 3 Walmart garden tractor batteries 19.95 each for display purposes. Of course I take them out of my lawn tractors for the show. Keep us in formed and a video please. Thanks and good luck

Yes used 3 small garden tractor battery's and started no problem meter is turning charging starts stops very happy with it I have a small 32 v - 115 AC motor generator converter 150 w working on it as well

You know, you should clean that paper off very carefully with a soft brush and make copies....on light card stock if you can. I'm sure there's more than one Delco owner out there that would like to have such a reproduction!

There are also computer programs that can "clean up" the original image so that it looks new again. Why not check into it and get back to us with an estimate? It would make a nice, visible accessory for the shows!
